Weekend school tournaments are fun for all. Not only do students get to participate in their preferred sport, but they also get to represent their school and challenge the other teams. Though, there is one thing that must be thought out before the start: travel.
Arranging for students, teachers, and sports teams to get to the right venue on time can be difficult, when there is an early start to the tournament or the event is out of Melbourne.
Here is where School Sports Bus Hire in Melbourne can help. Instead of asking parents to arrange separate cars or trying to manage several vehicles, schools could organize group transport with a driver. With less transport confusion, there’s more time to relax before the game. After all, nobody wants to start tournament day with a transport headache!
Why Is Transport Important for Weekend School Tournaments?
School competitions are held in sports centres, sports stadiums, school grounds and recreational centres. Some competitions may have multiple teams going to various locations on the same day.
By having a good plan in place students will all arrive together and it can help teachers have a better way of managing the group. It also helps to make planning of the departure time, pick-up points and return trip easier.
With School Trip Transport Melbourne, schools can organise transport to fit their tournament schedule, rather than having everyone arrange their own travel.
No matter if it is a game of football, netball , an athletic meeting or basketball, having a transport plan will keep things running more smoothly.
What Should Schools Consider Before Booking a Bus?
Before booking transport, schools should think about a few simple things.
1. Know How Many Students Are Travelling
Determine how many students, teachers, and other members of staff will require transportation this is key when deciding on your car.
You may need a smaller minibus for a small group, while a bigger crowd may call for the comfort of a full size coach. Picking the correct size ensures you won’t pay for a lot of seats that you won’t be using, or worse won’t be enough!
When seeking bus hire for schools, get an approximate number of passengers and update when your numbers are confirmed.
2. Check the Tournament Schedule
Saturday & Sunday Days can be long with an early start, back-to-back matches, and sometimes many times between matches. Read what time you need to arrive and how long the day is.
Share this information with your transportation company before booking your reservation. Get details about the waiting time and additional charges if the event lasts beyond the scheduled time.
Preparation ahead of time will ease those frantic, last-minute phone calls.
3. Plan Pickup and Drop-Off Points
Choose a place to gather with your group in case some arrive at the site early. It will be easier to load your group and get on your way if you all meet at a convenient, central location.
Also, double check the precise location where you will be able to enter and exit the venue. Sometimes a large sporting venue can have multiple entries and the main car park isn’t necessarily the most suitable location for your group.
Directions are important so all will know where to proceed.
